  Summary

Howard is trying to get top-level security clearance to work on a government surveillance satellite, and in order to clear him, the FBI sends an agent to interview his friends about his past and any secrets he may have. Raj and Leonard behave very odd during their interviews with Raj fearing that he might be deported back to India and Leonard hitting on the agent to prove his newly acquired self confidence. However, Sheldon accidentally reveals that Howard destroyed a Mars rover while trying to impress a girl in the season 2 episode The Lizard-Spock Expansion, and Howard is subsequently denied clearance. As Sheldon is feeling guilty, he unsuccessfully attempts to retract his statement and later apologizes to Howard, with Howard telling him to go away. He then goes to the Cheesecake Factory and asks Penny for advice and ethyl alcohol, which he ends up spitting back into the shot glass each time he tries to drink it. Sheldon and Penny discuss the Kobayashi Maru test from Star Trek, which gives Sheldon the idea of changing the problem itself, just as Captain Kirk did by reprogramming the simulator. Shortly thereafter, Sheldon tries to reprogram the way Howard thinks by using Neuro-linguistic programming. This, however, fails completely, so Sheldon gives Howard his beloved spot on the couch, which according to Sheldon is the "singular location in space around which revolves my entire universe". This results in Raj starting to cry, prompting Howard to forgive Sheldon. The episode ends with Sheldon reclaiming his spot back from Howard after only 94 seconds.

Note: Because of her broken leg, Kaley Cuoco is shown working as a bartender, instead of in her normal job as a waitress at The Cheesecake Factory. Eliza Dushku guest-stars as FBI Agent Angela Paige and Neil deGrasse Tyson makes a cameo appearance as himself.

Title reference: Howard's refusal to accept Sheldon's apology.
